Aeration Services

Why is Core Aeration important for my lawn?

The Core Aerator pulls “plugs” out the soil about 1 inches deep and about 1/2 of an inch in diameter. These “cores” are left on the surface of your lawn to dry out. Then the next time you mow they are crushed and the soil is mixed into the thatch layer on the surface, adding micro-organisms to the thatch layer helping it to decompose and create new soil. Aeration also allows air, water and nutrients to easily reach the root zone by relieving compacted soil and opening up the thatch layer.

Core Aeration stimulates new growth, improves drainage, provides a better environment for over-seeding and increases the effectiveness of applied fertilizer and control products. Aeration is one of the best things you can do for your lawn. It is suggested that a lawn be aerated at least every other year, but preferably every year.

Top dressing with seed when Aerating is an economical way to keep your lawn thickening every year.
